PIGGY

I stood in the middle of the room and looked around and
there were people laughing and people crying and then
there was me.
There were people praying for people and people being
prayed for by people and then
there was me.
There were people singing and people praying and then
there was me.
There were people dancing and people shaking but still
there was me.
There were people in couples and people in groups and
no-one on their own
except me.
There were people praising Him and people experiencing
Him and just one person alone in the crowd again, feeling
nothing again
and that was me.
Then, from somewhere deep within me, a voice screamed
out, “when is it my turn, what about me,
don’t you love me?
Suddenly no-one else mattered. I could see nothing else
because you were there Lord and in that whole room there
was just you
and me.
