BODY MATTERS

I don’t like to complain, Lord, but when you were ‘knitting me together in my mother’s womb’ there were some changes I would have found really helpful.

Firstly, since having children I’ve discovered that eyes in the back of my head as well as the front would have proved really useful.  Extra ears would help too, so that I could listen to all the family at once and hear what they’re saying.

Come to think of it Lord, with extra eyes and ears I’d perhaps also be able to see the needs of those around me more clearly and hear and understand their pain.

Talking of pain, I’d like a thicker skin so that thoughtless and unkind remarks wouldn’t penetrate so deep and hurt so much.

I’m always saying that I could do with an extra pair of hands so that would help as well.

I’d like a body that burns up hundreds of calories while I’m asleep, thrives on chips, chocolate and cream cakes and tones up its own muscles!

Lastly, and very important, I’d like a mouth that isn’t big enough to put my foot in.
