FAITH IN ACTION

Lord, bless the lady next-door-but-one

who’s not seen a soul all day.

​

And bless the young mum with two small children

and another one on the way.

 

And bless that man who’s just lost his job;

help him to make ends meet.

 

And bless my mum who can’t get out

‘cause of problems with her feet.

 

Lord, bless my kids as they study at school;

help them to know that I care.

 

And bless the couple whose son’s in hospital,

help them to get over there.

Lord, I’m back from the lady next-door-but- one,

but I’ve said I’ll call again soon.

 

And I did a load of washing for the harassed young mum

and she was over the moon.

 

And when I took the meal round to the man without a job     he said he loved steak and onions.

 

And I called the chiropodist ‘bout my mum

and he’s going to sort out her bunions.

 

And I sent a text message to Joanne and Andy;

bless you for mobile phones.

 

I sent them from hospital, while the couple saw their son

and I waited to bring them home.

 

I would be impressed

with the way you’ve blessed

all those I’ve been praying for

if I wasn’t so exhausted.

I’m on my knees,

BUT I’m not going to pray any more.
